The art and chocolate of Perugia will dominate another day trip. A hilltop town, Perugia’s city limits were completely contained in the medieval city walls until after World War II. A busy university town, the mixture of students, art and chocolate create a lively atmosphere.
Using your Tactile Travels journal, you take in events, inspirations and details of the day. Photos, souvenirs ―anything that catches your fancy― will be part of your day’s palette.
When we return to the Castle, Italian textile artists will share their creations inspired by memories, and expressed in knitted, crocheted and woven fibers. Then it is our turn!
Drawing from our day’s experience, sample patterns, and a box of yarn and fiber, each of us uses our own needles. With your palette, reflections, guidance and samples, you document the day in fiber. For those less inclined to knit, there is poolside time, country walks and a fine classical and jazz music library in the castle.
At week’s end, we’ve seen and savoured in central Italy, but taken time to create lasting memories in fiber. Our transfer drops us off at either the Attigliano train station or Rome’s Fiumicino airport.
